Buhari Threatens To Back Out Of Abuja Accord

Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, General Mohammadu Buhari has threatened to back out of the historic Abuja peace accord should the political allies of president Goodluck Jonathan continue with their insults and verbal attacks on his person. He also warned that no one should regard his patriotic commitment to maintaining national peace for weakness, stressing that neither president Jonathan nor his aides have the monopoly for the “flagrant breaches to the Abuja Peace Accord.” The APC presidential flag bearer also warned the authorities against interfering with the constitutional duties and operations of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC or surreptitiously hound its chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega out of office before the expiration of his tenure. Buhari’s outburst followed the recent actions of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose whom he said wished him dead in a paid advertorial and the Director-General of the People’s Democra...

It is unknown yet how the fire started, but some have started pointing accusing fingers on some politicians on the scrutiny list of the “bedeviled” house of assembly members. The Governor however was not seen as to comment on the incidence. Hitherto, there have been quibbles, objections and points of criticisms against the executive governor since past few weeks. It was rumored that the legislative arm members were gearing towards the impeachment of the Chief executive of the state for alleged misappropriation of fund, money laundry, anti-party activities and inflation of the prices of executed projects. Meanwhile, accusing fingers are being pointed at the house of assembly leader for a connivance with unscrupulous and external elements to destabilize the peace of the State and its c...

HOW I KILLED THE CROCODILE THAT ATE MY WIFE

Image
Four months ago, Demeteriya Nabire was killed by a crocodile when she went to the lake near her home to fetch water. The animal later came back to the area but found Nabire’s husband waiting, ready to take revenge. Demeteriya Nabire was at the water’s edge with a group of women from her village – they were gathering water from Uganda’s Lake Kyoga when the crocodile grabbed her. It dragged her away and she was never seen again. Her husband, Mubarak Batambuze, was devastated – Nabire was pregnant when she died, and he had lost not only his wife but an unborn child as well. He felt powerless. But then last month he heard the crocodile had returned. “Somebody called me and said, ‘Mubarak, I have news for you – the crocodile that took your wife is here – we are looking at it now.’” The 50-year-old fisherman made his way to the lake with some friends. “He was a very big monster, and we tried fighting him with stones and sticks. But there was nothing we could do,” he says. So B...

Prof.Godwin Onu, The Rector of the moment has ended the history of Malpractice in Federal Polytechnic Oko

Image
Prof.Godwin Onu has prepared a Malpractice-free environment for all Federal Polytechnic Oko Students. He achieved this by building a gigantic and well equipped CBT hall for student's examinations. Presently, students write their examinations sitting in enmity with each other, using the computer system. Those sitting side by side have different options of questions. With this pattern of exam hostility, no student cheats in the examination hall. This also has ameliorated the stresses of scripts marking for the Lecturers as the computer automatically generates and stores a student's score in his result's databank at a "submit-click" or "exam-end" without errors, unlike before where a Lecturer stays a whole month cracking his or her small head on a big script. Students in the same vein, shower accolades on the Rector and his management team because sexual harassment from Lecturers has become a thing of the past as Lecturers will soon no longer...
