CBT Candidates who wrote the CBT exams few days ago in Federal Polytechnic Oko has lauded the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko for the procurement of highly configured systems which fascinated the speed of the exercise. One of the CBT candidates Nwandu Nneka, who also wrote same examination in a different center last year, thanked God for the gift of Prof.Godwin Onu to Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra and Nigeria. She said "Last Year, i wrote this same CBT exam and failed woefully not because i didn't write well, but because the system which was provided for us were giving problems. But now, we used Federal Polytechnic Oko computer facilities and there is a great difference. The system were so very fast, and the comfort of my self and my fellow Jambites were maximal. So, i thank God for the Rector who equipped this institution with this kind of wonderful facilities. I don't even know that Oko has turned into something beautiful and excellent like this. God ...

Amaechi Pressurising Me To Free Hardened Criminals – Rivers CP

The Commissioner of the Rivers State Police Command, Dan Bature has said that Governor Chibuike Amaechi has being raising false alarm against the Command because he refused to bow to pressure to release hardened criminals involved in heinous cases of murder, deadly cult activities, unlawful possession of firearms, kidnappings and sundry acts of lawlessness that ordinarily would have been charged to court but for the industrial action of the Rivers state judiciary. In a strongly worded press statement signed by the CP Dan Bature, he said: “It is strongly believed that the vituperations are frustrating signs of the Government’s inability to pressure the Command to release hardened criminals involved heinous cases of murder, deadly cult activities, unlawful firearms possession, kidnappings and sundry acts of lawlessness that ordinarily would have been charged to court but for the industrial action of the Rivers State Judiciary”. The CP said he has restrained himself from joi...

Nigerian troops fighting the Boko Haram terrorist group in the nation's north-east have taken over Goniri town in Yobe State, clearing terrorists from the location.  The troops reclaimed the town on Monday morning after clearing the terrorists from the town that it had taken over some months back. The Defence Headquarters in a tweet on Monday said: "Troops have this morning completed clearing terrorists out of Goniri in Yobe State".  It is the latest breakthrough recorded by the military in its increased counter terrorism operations against the Boko Haram terrorists since the nation's general elections were postponed by six weeks. source: http://www.reportnaija.com/2015/03/breaking-news-nigerian-troops-retake.html?m=1

IBB, Abdulsalami Reconcile Gov. Aliyu Of Niger State With Deputy Gov.

In view of the tension generated by the political difference between Niger state Governor Babangida Aliyu and his deputy, Hon Ahmed Musa Ibeto, former heads of state, Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar have moved to reconcile the duo. LEADERSHIP gathered yesterday in Minna that the former Nigerian leaders held a reconciliation meeting with the governor and his deputy at the residence of Abdulsalami last Thursday. It was gathered that the meeting was at the instance of the generals who felt that their public display of their political difference was causing them embarrassment and tension in the state and decided to nip it in the bud before it degenerated to another level. A source close to the meeting disclosed that Governor Aliyu and Hon Ibeto laid bare before the elder statesmen their differences and concerns since the deputy governor defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on January 19, 2015. Whereas the governor was not happy about how the iss...

Boko Haram Using Chibok Girls As Shekau's Shield

Troops have not carried out aerial bombardment of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau’s hideout because the sect is using the Chibok girls as shield, it was learnt yesterday. Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, on Wednesday visited Chad to seek clarifications on some issues and map out plans with multi-national force on what a source described as the final onslaught against Boko Haram. The military source, who spoke in confidence with our correspondent, said Shekau and some members of his Shura Committee – the sect’s highest policy making body - had been shuttling between Sambisa Forest and strategic locations, such as Gwoza and Bama. The Chadian President, Idris Deby said Shekau’s convoy was sighted in Dikwa on Tuesday. But the military source explained that Shekau has a strong base in Gwoza with a special armoured tank. The source said: “Troops have located what I may call Shekau’s bunker but they cannot strike because some of the Chibok girls are being used as ...

WHY NIGERIANS MUST REJECT BUHARI!

WHEN Muhammadu Buhari overthrew a democratically-elected government in a coup d”etat in 1983, Sani Abacha declared in his infamous radio broadcast: “(Our) health services are in shambles as our hospitals are reduced to mere consulting clinics without drugs, water and equipment.” However, Buhari did not address the shambolic Nigerian health system in his two years in power. In a Vanguard article of 7th February, 2015, Ambassador Ignatius Olisemeka said of Buhari: “He entrusted to me the care and welfare of his family- he sent his wife and two children to me in Washington D.C. for medical treatment. His family were with me in Washington D.C. when the General was overthrown in a coup d’état.” Thus, while Buhari was grandstanding as Mr. Fix-It, he sought medical care surreptitiously for his family in the United States, instead of fixing the Nigerian health system. This typifies the hypocrisy and insincerity of Buhari as an agent of change. It is all smoke and mirrors. It is the ...
