Dickson announces automatic classification for Bayelsa monarchs


Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson, has announced with executive fiat, the automatic classification of all paramount rulers in the state with monthly stipends to enable them administer their communities  effectively.Dickson, who made the announcement yesterday during an interactive meeting with paramount rulers from all the communities in the state, explained that the gesture was borne out of his appreciation of the contributions royal fathers made towards the development of the state.According to him, the state Ministry of Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs and other relevant government agencies would work out modalities  for the monthly entitlements and responsibilities of the traditional rulers, under the supervision of the deputy governor.
According to him, “On the issue of recognition, I want to let you know that this government appreciates all you have been doing to support us. Actually, I was waiting to surprise you with the passage and signing of the Community Administration Bill into law, where most of the issues you have raised here are already provided for.”

There may be fresh trouble for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra state as candidates have indicated interest to boycott the primary election of the party or step down over candidate imposition.
